Ecotrust announced Tuesday the availability of "Cache: Creating Natural Economies." Written by Ecotrust founder Spencer Beebe, the book preaches the gospel of "natural economies" and features a foreword by Tom Brokaw.

Described by one reviewer as "swashbuckling, introspective, and eccentric," the book covers the creation of ShoreBank Pacific and Beebe's founding of Conservation International. It also includes a loving description of the Jean Vollum Natural Capital Center, one of Portland's earliest green buildings and Ecotrust's headquarters.

In 1991, Beebe founded Ecotrust, a nonprofit think tank and environmental advocacy organization that has spawned subsidiaries including ShoreBank and Ecotrust Forest Management. The second half of "Cache" focuses on the Ecotrust era.

Beebe's book is available for $29.95 for the hardcover edition, $19.95 for soft cover and 99 cents for the iPad or iPhone versions.
