Robert Grott said his organization, Northwest Environmental Business Council, will rejoin with Associated Oregon Industries for a conference in December.
After parting ways last year to each put on their own environmental conferences, Associated Oregon Industries and Northwest Environmental Business Council announced Tuesday they would team up again on the Northwest Environmental Conference in December.
"The message both organizations got from our members and conference attendees was that they wanted us to figure out how to combine efforts again, and we did just that," said Robert Grott, Northwest Environmental Business Council's executive director.
Prior to 2011, the two groups had been partnering on the conference for 15 years. Last year, NEBC put on the Business & The Environment conference.
"It was quite successful," Grott said. "But everyone said to us, 'We don't want two conferences.' This town isn't big enough for two conferences."
“The revived partnership is a win/win for everyone, including the attendees, the exhibitors, the sponsors, and the industrial community at large," said Jay Clemens, AOI's president and CEO, in a press release.
The Northwest Environmental Conference is schedule for December 4-5, in Portland at the Red Lion Hotel, Jantzen Beach. It's expected to attract over 500 attendees.
