NuScale Power LLC leaders reported Tuesday that the company has passed the 100-patent mark.
NuScale, which is developing small modular nuclear reactors, has now procured patents for advanced safety features, enhanced fuel performance, SMR scalability and modularity and other innovations.
The Portland-based company collected a U.S. patent for its steam generator flow bypass system last June. It also revealed in August that the company received backing from the Rolls Royce PLC company.
NuScale is also hoping to collect millions from the Department of Energy for its research.
